How do I make a call request?
September 11, 2020How are rates for experts determined on LivesAlign?
September 12, 2020When you’re paying for an Expert Advisor’s time, it’s best to come prepared to make the most of the call. Here are some suggestions to get ready:
1. Define the Topic(s)
Before you even look for an Expert Advisor, figure out what you want to address. Jot down some thoughts about what you hope to gain from the call. What are some questions you hope will be answered? What areas would you like insight or tools on addressing? What problem(s) do you want to solve?
2. Select an Expert Advisor
Try to decipher which category the topic you want to discuss falls under. Search for Expert Advisors that fall into that category and book a call with the one you feel excited about speaking with.
Be sure to add a message to the Expert Advisor some of the thoughts you have in mind for the call. A message that includes bullet points of any useful details, questions, or background info helps make your time together more productive. This way the Expert knows what is expected of them and comes prepared as well.
3. Intro’s
It’s good to introduce yourself and start off with some small talk to break the ice a little and get to know one another. Be yourself and get comfortable. However, it is important to stay mindful of the time and move on as seamlessly and naturally possible to the meaty part of the conversation. Make every minute count.
4. Focus and Prioritize
Don’t be afraid to dive right in and ask the more important questions first. Or better yet, share with the Expert Advisor the list of questions or thoughts you have for the call upfront and emphasize the ones you really want to focus on initially. This way you can ensure the items that are priority are discussed before moving on to the lesser important ones.
5. Allocate Time
Take yourself and your time seriously. Make a note on your calendar and block off your schedule for the call. Make sure your internet or cell reception is working to your standards and you are in a distraction-free location. Taking 10 minutes time to get ready and be settled before the call allows for less frustration during the call, more questions answered, and the right mindset to recieve the answers you are looking for. Also, spending 10 minutes after the call to make notes that you felt resonated with you will allow for easy referencing and follow through later when you have had more time to absorb the information discussed.
